Ancient Whispers
Wander around the ruins of the Roman Forum and imagine yourself bargaining for goods with the locals. Feel like a senator as you stand on the same ground where the power players of the Roman Republic once did. Take a deep breath and inhale the air of democracy and debate that once filled the agora. Don't forget to give your regards to the mighty Julius Caesar, whose spirit still lingers at this historic site. So, grab your toga and come join the party at the Forum! While you are here be sure to marvel over other famous landmarks like the Arch of Constantine and the Temple of Saturn. Even if you get lost in the maze of ruins, it's still exciting to know you are in the former Roman capital!
Step Up Your Rome Game!
Walk up and down the infamous Spanish steps! The sweeping Trinita di Monti stairway, sometimes known as the Spanish Steps, begins in the Piazza di Spagna, which is home to Bernini's Fontana della Barcaccia. This is a wonderful place to people-watch and one of the city's most recognisable landmarks with exciting shops to pop in and out of. In the spring, when azaleas are in bloom, the 135 stairs become an especially beautiful location to relax and photograph! So make sure you strike a pose!
Trevi Tales...
Make a wish at the Trevi Fountain, which is Rome's grandest and most well-known monument, or stop to take pictures of the impressive structure. The fountain, created by Nicola Salvi in the 18th century, is an extravagant rococo display of mythological characters, wild horses and tumbling rocks. It is breath-taking to see it at any time of day, but we recommend seeing it lit up at night because it is truly magical.
From Michelangelo To Raphael...
Explore the Vatican Museum, which dates to the 1500s and includes one of the world's largest and most important art collections. There are more than 20,000 exhibits spread out across the museum space, making it physically impossible to see everything. Michelangelo's paintings in the Sistine Chapel are the most impressive artworks in Rome. Visit St. Peter's Basilica once you have had your fill of the city's splendour. The lavish basilica is the biggest in the world and it houses three of Italy's most famous works of art: Michelangelo’s Pietà, The Dome and Bernini's Bronze Canopy above the papal altar.
